What To Expect

Visiting any church for the very first time can be an awkward experience. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Berean will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your entire family. We want you to experience helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcomed and “at home”!  Here are a few answers to your questions and what you might expect on your first visit.

When are your services?

Our main worship services are on Sunday:

Sunday School 9:30

Morning Worship 10:30

Wednesday – Prayer and Bible Study 7:00

Where are the services held?

We are located at 55 West Street. Berean Baptist Church is next door to the Post Office and behind the car wash in downtown Newville, PA.

This location is just minutes from exit 37 on Interstate 81.

How should I dress?

There is not a dress code at Berean for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome on your visit here at Berean!

Who is Pastor Bob Van Sant?

Pastor Van Sant received Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 18.  He is a 14-year veteran of the U. S. Navy.  After Bible College, he served the Lord as assistant pastor for 12 years. In 1994 Pastor and his wife, Judy, along with two of their five children moved to Ukraine as missionaries and served there for 22 years. In April of 2018 Bob became the pastor of Berean Baptist Church.  Bob and Judy share a love for people and a joy in serving. They would love to meet you this coming Sunday.

Am I expected to participate in the offering?

No. We don’t invite you to Berean for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
